Primary Objective

To assist mental health practitioners in understanding and providing effective multicultural counseling and psychotherapy with refugees and migrants by providing a model of treatment and psychotherapy (the multiphase model of psychotherapy, social justice, and human rights)

Secondary Objectives

To provide an understanding of the sociopolitical and historical contexts of mental health for refugees and migrants

To promote awareness and understanding of the impacts of premigration trauma on postmigration adjustment

To sensitize mental health practitioners regarding acculturation, cultural belief systems, and associated adjustment issues that affect the psychological well-being of refugees and migrants
