Short overview of the webpages
This website has been designed to offer further reading and/or support materials, as appropriate, to accompany the chapters in Getting Started in Your Educational Research: A Student’s Guide to Design, Data Production and Analysis.
Apart from the SPSS files in Chapter 14, all files are linked to either Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint or Word. To use the SPSS files will require you to have access to IBM® / SPSS® Statistics software and, although you may not have this software, many educational establishments hold a licence to enable its students to access it whilst on their course. The book uses screenshots taken from Version 24 of the software.
All files are accessible directly either as a separate file or, where there are several files associated with a given topic, collectively as a zip file. You will need to enable editing to make any changes to files you open. If you find them of value, you may use, or modify, the support files for your own purposes and an acknowledgement of their source is all that is requested.
Chapters 4 and 12 do not have any further reading or support materials attached to them but within them, as with other chapters, you will find suggested other resources to look at.
As lecturers we hope you find the book and this website of value in your teaching of research methods to Masters and undergraduate students and, as students we hope it will help in completion of your research journey. Whilst every effort has been made to ensure there are no problems with any of the files should you find any, we take sole responsibility for the errors and apologise for them in advance.
