Activity 20.1: Health Promotion

Make a list of all health promotion activities that you can think of that could help prevent dementia. Write beside each item on the list your own health behaviours. You may find some that are unavoidable such as gender and ageing but how many could you influence? What might you change to reduce your risk of developing dementia?

Your answer could have included: more exercise, stop smoking, eat a low calorie diet, reduce alcohol intake, review any medication taken, keep your mind active, stay connected with other people.
