Students will be informed during their nurse education and practice that steroids have a therapeutic value but can have life threatening side effects if used inappropriately. Strict guidelines on administration and withdrawal often accompany steroid use. This activity allows them to consider the implications of using topical steroids as it is much more difficult to administer a prescribed dose.
