What’s the evidence 39.1

Do you have a basic working knowledge of British Sign Language (BSL)?

If not, how do you think you would manage a situation that required someone to use BSL?

In some instances if you do not have adequate skills yourself you need to seek help from a carer (who may well have knowledge of BSL) or someone within the wider organisation. You will need to familiarise yourself with the process to seek assistance such as this, i.e. interpreter services.
