David provides a very provocative view on the over emphasis on values and how useful (or not) they are to us in healthcare. What are your views? Do you believe it is important for nursing to clearly articulate what they hold important and if so why?

Regardless of whether you agree with David or not, values are endemic in healthcare and now heavily influence how both students and qualified nurses are recruited using values based recruitment, the content of your course, your assessment in practice and the NMC requirement for you to revalidate with them every three years to maintain your registration with them.
