What would you do if you were Kabir?
How would you describe the dynamics of this family? How does this family work?
Of course, there are white British families too which are looking after elderly people with dementia, and where sons are reluctant to come out as gay to parents they know will take it badly. What, if anything, is different about this experience when the older generations in the family come from another country and another culture?
How would this story be told if it was being described by another family member? Jamal? Amina? Sajid? Or how about Monty or Kylie, who perhaps would not take such a positive view of the parents as Kabir does?
