You will often have to transfer a covariance or correlation matrix found in a journal article or a report into an EQS data file. In Table 6.1 you will find such a matrix. Read it into EQS using the procedure demonstrated in this Chapter.

Then try another procedure: (1) read the (lower triangular) matrix into a word processing program, (2) save the document as a pure text (with extension ‘.txt’), (3) change the extension from ‘.txt’ to ‘.cov’, and open the document in EQS.
