Automaticity Research: The Key Thinkers Involved

Automaticity is the ability to take actions without occupying the mind with minor details, allowing the mind to become an automatic response pattern. It is usually as a result of learning, repetition and practice. The example of automaticity research discussed here is a study of experienced telegraph operators, which found that with considerable repetition and exercise, the focus of their attention had shifted.
