Discussion Questions

  • As many of you are likely to be from the Millennial generation, what would be your response to those from other generations who question your worth ethic? Use characteristics from both your generation and other generations to answer.
  • Transformational leadership is lauded as inspiring exceptional performance, some may prefer transactional leadership. Does anyone in the room prefer that type? Why? What might be the advantage of being a transactional leader? Does it depend upon the type of organization?
  • It is noted that emotional intelligence is a better predictor of workplace success than IQ. Could you think of other contexts where emotional intelligence would be more useful? How can we improve emotional intelligence?
