Abstract:

Even though all counselors will face ethical dilemmas, addiction counselors can encounter ethical issues that are unique to the discipline itself.  This article explores: the gap between research and applied practice, professional credentials, group work within the field, confidentiality and privileged communication, boundaries, and informed consent.
