In this experiment you will see a simple break system. When the brake pedal in a car is pressed it pushes down on some liquid in a cylinder (brake fluid). This pushing on the liquid transfers the ‘push’ to the brake pads around the wheel. These pads rub against the wheel slowing it down. The equipment you will need for this video includes:

• Two syringes
• Plastic tubing
   

Method:

• Push the plunger down from the smaller syringe
• Move the other syringe and push the plunger down
• Repeat this action a few more times
