  • Jonas Gahr Store: In Defense of Dialogue
    In this 14:57 minute TED talk the Foreign Minister of the Netherlands discusses the deficit of political dialogue being used to resolve conflicts in the world today.  The military is not a problem solver.  Conflicts need political solutions.  The West needs to understand groups and not label them.  Dialogue is not easy, but necessary to resolve conflicts in a nonviolent manner.

In this 10:52 minute TED talk she argues that violence and nonviolence are both actors seeking attention.  By giving attention to nonviolent movements through films and media coverage we can encourage peaceful resistance and transform nonviolence into a functional behavior.
