    This 3:51 minute TED talk shows the ways storytelling has evolved through the years starting with the innovation of popup books for children.  Stories are recycled using evolving technology to continue to communicate effectively with others.
     
  • Pamela Meyer:  How to Spot a Liar
    This 18:51 minute TED presentation covers reasons to lie, ambivalence about truth, and telltale signs to spot a liar.  This is helpful to managing or investigating others.
     
  • Charles Hazelwood:  Trusting the Ensemble
    Charles Hazelwood is a conductor of the Scottish Ensemble.  In this 19:36 minute TED talk he discusses how important it is to trust both himself and the orchestra in a performance.  Body language is important in the communication between the conductor and the orchestra.  The orchestra performs musical pieces to demonstrate these concepts.
     
  • Joan Halifax:  Compassion and the True Meaning of Empathy
    Joan Halifax uses concepts of Buddhism in the 14:01 minute TED talk to explain the meaning of compassion and its use in her work with persons facing death in a hospice or on death row in a prison.  Compassion is to see purely into the nature of suffering.  You aspire to transform suffering, but you can not be attached to an outcome. She describes compassion's enemies.  She poses an important question, "Why don't we vote based on compassion?"
     
  • Kate Hartman:  The Art of Wearable Communication
    This humorous 9:06 minute TED talk concentrates on why bodies matter to communication.  How do we communicate?  She has built different devices to demonstrate and improve communication, such as the Talk to Yourself Hat, The Gut Listener, the Inflatable Heart, the Discommunicator designed for arguments, and the Earbender.
     
  • The Art of Demotivation.
    According to leading satirist Dr. E.L. Kersten, author of "The Art of Demotivation," the source of workplace conflict is often misdiagnosed. What's seen as a simple "misunderstanding" or "failure to communicate" really runs much deeper: Your coworkers don't actually like you. Kersten helps clarify the situation by translating what they're really saying in this 3:30 video (Note: This is SATIRE).
