Rose Barbour discusses qualitative data analysis and data coding. She initially talks about coding as a way to organise data for retrieval, but then goes on to discuss it as something that is likely to be constantly revised in response to the data and to the interpretations of other team members. She suggests one might first of all develop themes from the data, but then (in the final segment) urges listeners to go further analytically, using their coding as a base to identify patterns, resolve conflicts, and gain a deeper understanding.
