Using the information from the text about time series analysis, provide both a summary and a critique of this study published in 2009 by researchers in three (3) different universities in Trinidad and Tobago.  Specifically address which type(s) of time series analysis techniques were utilized and critique whether or not they were the best choices for this research.  Explain why or why not.

This report summarizes the results of a project which investigated the time series interrelationships between crime, drug use, police and arrests in New York City.   The authors gathered data from 1970-1990 and, using that data, conducted several types of analysis, including time-series analysis.  Read their report and then leveraging the information from the text, summarize the approaches they used, the conclusions drawn and suggest at least one specific idea for furthering their research.

This research is a methodological critique of David Cantor and Kenneth land’s 1985 approach to time series analysis of the crime-unemployment relationship.  The author, David Greenberg, suggests error correction models for homicide and robbery rates for 1946-1997 in order to illustrate procedures for analyzing nonstationary time series data.  Review this article and its criticisms of the Cantor/Land work from 1985.  Draw at least three (3) conclusions about Greenberg’s critique, explaining each in reasonable detail.
