Shaw, I. (2008). Ethics and the practice of qualitative research. Qualitative Social Work, 7(4), 400-414.
The author explores several important issues in research ethics with particular emphasis on the role of ethics in studies that rely on qualitative methods. He deals with informed consent as an aspect of social justice beyond academic practice itself, discussing the research process as an exercise in power, reciprocity, and social relevance.

This article explores some of the ethical considerations that emerged while conducting a research project involving children, many of which were not predicted at the outset.
