What are chapter assignments and how do they work?

At the end of each chapter is the Chapter Assignment. When a chapter is selected from the Class Homepage, all the modules (including reading sections, video quizzes, chapter assignments, etc.) in a chapter are listed to the right of the screen.

Each chapter includes assignable practice problems, including several algorithmic questions, giving students multiple attempts to quantitative practice problems. Students can also view hints and get feedback on their correct or incorrect responses when they submit. After an assignment is submitted, students can view their results and feedback for that attempt.

With each new attempt, the questions that students have answered correctly will remain. If a question was not answered correctly in the previous attempt, the new attempt will either clear the student’s previous response (for static questions) or provide a new version of the question (for algorithmic questions).

How do I see feedback after submitting an assignment or a quiz?

When you have inputted all of your answers and submitted a completed assignment, you will receive a Feedback: Grade Report. You can also access all past reports through the Gradebook, under View Past Results.

What is a knowledge check and how do I see feedback?

Each reading section ends with a Knowledge Check so students can test their understanding of the topics presented with immediate feedback. A Knowledge Check is intended as a self-assessment for students to gauge their understanding of the reading. Students can view the correct answer by clicking How Did I Do? after answering each question. While it is unlikely that instructors will assign these as graded homework, instructors can still track students' completion from the gradebook.

What are video quizzes and how do I navigate through them?

Throughout the reading text, videos are embedded to illustrate key concepts that take students beyond rote memorization of definitions. They explain the “why” in addition to the “what” through relatable examples. A brief quiz follows each video.

When there is a video embedded in the reading text, a video quiz will immediately follow that reading section. Video quizzes can be accessed directly through the Class Homepage. Click Start from the Class Homepage to begin a Video Quiz. After clicking Submit Assignment, if you have not answered all of the questions in the assignment, you will receive an error alert reminding you to revisit unanswered questions. Click on one of the questions in the list to go back and correct your work. When you have inputted all of your answers and submitted a completed assignment, you will receive a Feedback: Grade Report.

What is an interactive summary and how do I see feedback?

In SAGE amp’s Economics titles, each chapter includes an Interactive Summary where students get 'hands on' in filling out the missing information to review key terminology and concepts from the chapter to ensure students understand how to utilize these terms in a cohesive and contextual way in expressing Economics concepts. These exercises include fill-in-the-blanks and drop-down-selection questions. Students can view the correct answers by clicking How Did I Do? after answering each question. While it is unlikely that instructors will assign these as graded homework, instructors can still track students' completion from the gradebook.

Am I able to start an assignment and come back later to complete it?

Yes, provided it is not past the due date, students can Quit and Save and return later to complete and submit the assignment.
