26.1 Doing journal due diligence
Go online or access a journal in your field of interest through your university library. In doing a quick survey of its recent articles, what can you tell about its style and what type of research it favours? Are there any keywords, characteristics, or impressions that carry through the different articles?
What other kinds of questions could you ask of a publication – journal or otherwise – to assess whether it might be a good fit for you?
Look at that journal’s submission guidelines. Do the requirements match up to the expectations you had from your survey of the content?
